The Self Employed-Mom Staying Motivated Tip #1

Associate Yourself with Like Minded People

It is a well-known saying that you are the average of the top five people you most closely associate with. Therefore, if your main associates are people who lack direction and motivation, you too will find yourself with the same dilemma.

So, make it a point to spend some time regularly with people who are positive, focus, and determined to follow through with whatever goals they have set before themselves.

You might say to yourself that you don’t any self-motivated people like that in your life.

Well I encourage you to do as I had done a few years back when I found myself starting anew. Go out and meet other like-minded individuals or people you simply inspire to be like.

There is a wonderful social site called meetup.com.

Meetup.com is set up so that people who share common interest can meet in a group setting.

This takes out the anxiety of being the only new comer in a group and gives you a platform to mingle and get to know others in a pseudo-professional level.

Like I mentioned previously, I have used meetup.com in the past, and still use meetup.com to congregate with new people and speaking for myself, I have had only positive experiences.

Personally, it has helped me develop a better overall moral.  It has also given me the opportunity to meet people I can relate to and share related experiences, all of which are real motivation boosters.

Whether you already have a solid like-minded supportive group of associates or need to venture out to find some; make it a point to check in with these people regularly to keep your motivation at a level of productivity.

Being self-employed, one must always aim to stay motivated and productive.

The well-being of business depends on it.
